The Guascor SF480TABII2SP is a high-capacity, 16-cylinder, turbocharged and intercooled V engine designed for heavy-duty marine propulsion and auxiliary power generation applications. It belongs to the S Series “spark-ignited” gas engine family but can also be adapted for diesel operation. With a displacement of 47.9 liters (bore 152 mm × stroke 165 mm), this powerhouse engine delivers continuous power outputs of 1,221 kW (1,660 hp) at 1,500 rpm, 1,268 kW (1,715 hp) at 1,800 rpm, and peaks at 1,324 kW (1,800 hp) at higher tolerances. Designed for vessels such as large tugboats, offshore supply ships, fast ferries, and diesel-electric or gas-electric hybrid vessels, the SF480TAiII2SP provides high torque and exceptional thrust performance, making it ideal for operations demanding robust and sustained power. Constructed for continuous operation under rigorous conditions, it meets IMO Tier II and CCNR Stage II emissions standards.
