This engine is equipped with improved model-based controls that enhance diagnostic capabilities, allowing for future prognostics and precise targeting of engine performance issues. Designed for extreme durability, the JD18 features a robust bedplate design, ensuring structural integrity and reliability for up to 20,000 hours of operation with the option for two rebuilds. Service and repair have been prioritized in the JD18’s design, incorporating hydraulic lash adjusters that provide a maintenance-free valve train and eliminate the need for lash adjustments.
