The MAN 175D is a compact, high-speed, four-stroke marine propulsion engine designed to meet the demanding requirements of commercial, naval, and passenger vessel applications. Developed by MAN Energy Solutions, the 175D series is available in 12-, 16-, and 20-cylinder V-type configurations, offering high power density with low fuel consumption and minimal emissions. The engine delivers up to 220 kW per cylinder, with total output ranging from 2,220 kW (12V) to 4,400 kW (20V). It provides strong continuous torque performance, typically between 20,000 Nm and 45,000 Nm, enabling excellent acceleration and load response. The MAN 175D runs on marine diesel oil (MDO) and ultra-low sulfur fuel oils, and it is fully compliant with IMO Tier II regulations. With the addition of an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, it meets IMO Tier III emission standards for operation in Emission Control Areas (ECAs). Key features include low vibration, reduced maintenance costs, and optimized performance for variable-speed and fixed-pitch propeller systems.
