The MAN B&W L V32/44CR is a medium-speed, four-stroke marine propulsion engine featuring advanced common rail (CR) fuel injection technology. Designed for both inline (L) and V-type (V) configurations, this engine offers high fuel flexibility, improved combustion efficiency, and low emissions across a wide operating range. Each cylinder produces approximately 500 kW, resulting in total output ranging from 3,000 kW (6L) to 12,000 kW (20V). The engine delivers high torque output typically in the range of 30,000 Nm to 120,000 Nm which ensures reliable propulsion under varying load conditions. The 32/44CR is optimized for use with marine diesel oil (MDO) and heavy fuel oil (HFO), and meets IMO Tier II emissions standards. With the integration of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems, it can achieve IMO Tier III compliance for operation in Emission Control Areas (ECAs). This engine is widely used in ferries, RoRo vessels, cargo ships, offshore support vessels, and naval auxiliary ships, offering a strong balance of performance, compactness, and emissions control. Its common rail system enables precise control over injection timing, pressure, and duration, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and emissions while enhancing responsiveness and operational flexibility.
