The MAN B&W L35/44DF is a compact, medium-speed, four-stroke dual-fuel propulsion engine designed for versatile marine applications. Operating efficiently on LNG, marine diesel oil (MDO), or heavy fuel oil (HFO), this inline-only engine is part of MAN’s proven DF technology platform, optimized for flexibility, fuel efficiency, and compliance with global emission standards. It delivers approximately 530 kW per cylinder, with total output ranging from 2,650 kW (5L) up to 5,300 kW (10L). The engine produces torque values in the range of 33,000–66,000 Nm, depending on cylinder count and load, making it ideal for vessels requiring both robust propulsion and dynamic load performance. The L35/44DF complies with IMO Tier III emission standards when operated in gas mode, without the need for after-treatment systems. Common applications include ferries, small cruise ships, offshore support vessels, tugboats, and coastal cargo vessels, especially in environments where environmental compliance and operating flexibility are essential.
