The MAN B&W V 49/60DF is a state-of-the-art, medium-speed, four-stroke dual-fuel engine developed for marine propulsion in large commercial vessels. Designed in both inline (L) and V-type (V) configurations, it delivers a power output of approximately 1,175 kW per cylinder, with total output ranging from 5,875 kW to 23,500 kW depending on the number of cylinders (from 5L to 10L and 12V to 20V). The engine offers exceptionally high torque values, estimated between 77,000 Nm and 308,000 Nm, ensuring strong propulsion performance even under heavy load. The 49/60DF is capable of operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG), marine diesel oil (MDO), or heavy fuel oil (HFO), allowing seamless fuel switching and operational flexibility. It meets IMO Tier III emissions regulations in gas mode without requiring additional after-treatment systems, making it ideal for Emission Control Areas (ECAs).
