The MAN B&W V28/33D STC is a high-speed, compact, four-stroke marine propulsion engine equipped with Sequential Turbocharging (STC) technology, optimized for demanding naval and commercial applications. This V-type only engine delivers outstanding power density and fast dynamic response, making it particularly well-suited for high-speed vessels and military platforms. Each cylinder produces approximately 450 kW, with total engine output ranging from 3,600 kW (8V) to 7,200 kW (16V). STC system, which activates turbochargers sequentially based on load, the engine maintains high efficiency and delivers strong torque typically in the range of 25,000 Nm to 60,000 Nm, depending on configuration and RPM. The V28/33D STC runs on marine diesel oil (MDO) and is optimized for performance, low emissions, and fast load pick-up. It complies with IMO Tier II emission standards and can be upgraded to IMO Tier III with the integration of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology.
