The Wartsila 20 is a compact, four-stroke, medium-speed diesel engine designed for marine propulsion and auxiliary power applications. Introduced in the early 1990s, the engine is known for its robustness, fuel efficiency, and reliability in challenging marine environments. It is available in 4L, 6L, 8L, and 9L in-line cylinder configurations, with power output ranging from 720 to 1,980 kW at 1,000 rpm. Commonly used in ferries, offshore support vessels, and small cargo ships, the Wartsila 20 is also widely adopted for marine generator sets. With SCR systems, it meets IMO Tier III emission standards.
