The Wartsila 25 is a next-generation, four-stroke, medium-speed marine engine designed for high-efficiency, low-emission operations. Introduced in 2023 as part of Wartsila’s decarbonization roadmap, the engine is optimized for use with liquid fuels (MGO) and methanol as a future-ready option. Offered in 6L, 8L, and 9L configurations, it delivers power between 2,400 and 3,400 kW at 1,000–1,200 rpm. It’s ideal for ferries, offshore vessels, small cruise ships, and hybrid marine systems. Built with a digital-native design, the Wartsila 25 meets IMO Tier III emissions standards using SCR and is compliant with future carbon regulations, making it a highly future-proof solution.
