The Wartsila 46F is a four-stroke, medium-speed marine diesel engine designed for reliable propulsion and auxiliary power generation in large vessels. It is an evolution of the Wartsila 46 series, optimized for improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced operational flexibility. The engine is available in 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-, and 12-cylinder configurations, with power output ranging from 5,600 kW to 11,400 kW at 514 or 500 rpm. Designed for use with marine diesel oil (MDO) and heavy fuel oil (HFO), the Wartsila 46F meets IMO Tier II standards as standard, and can achieve IMO Tier III compliance with the addition of SCR technology. This engine is typically installed in large container ships, cruise vessels, bulk carriers, and tankers.
