The Yanmar 12AY series comprises 12-cylinder, V-type, 4-stroke, vertical, water-cooled marine diesel engines, engineered for high-speed commercial propulsion. These engines boast a displacement of 40.76 liters with a bore and stroke of 155 mm × 180 mm. Featuring turbocharging and intercooling, and a direct injection combustion system, they ensure efficient and robust performance. The starting system includes either dual electric motors (24 V, 6.5 kW each) or dual air motors, while cooling uses a constant high-temperature cooling system. Designed for demanding marine environments, the engines meet IMO Tier II emission standards, utilize an SAE #00 flywheel housing and 21-inch flywheel, and present a dry mass of approximately 4,950 kg (without marine gear).
