The B6.7, Cummins’ most popular diesel engine ever produced, has been refined over four decades of continuous improvement. The 2019 B6.7 model features an EGR-free design that delivers 5 percent more power and 31 percent more peak torque compared to its predecessor. Its award-winning VGT™ Turbocharger, known for its reliability and durability, boosts equipment productivity. Enhanced fuel economy and extended maintenance intervals contribute to lower operating costs and reduced Total Cost of Ownership. The EGR-free design simplifies the engine system, enhances reliability, and minimizes the space required for the cooling system. It also offers a range of component options for easier installation and maintenance, including choices for front- or rear-sump oil pan placements, on-engine or remote ECM and maintenance filters, Rear Engine or Front Engine Power Take Offs, and four turbocharger orientations: high-mount front and rear or low-mount front and rear.

The inline 4-cylinder F3.8 engine offers a 10 percent increase in power and nearly 20 percent more torque throughout the RPM range. Its EGR-free design simplifies the system and enhances reliability. Along with the performance boost, the engine achieves improved fuel efficiency, with a total fluid efficiency (including both fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid) enhanced by up to 3 percent. For equipment operating in duty cycles with frequent idling, Cummins Stop-Start technology can further enhance fuel economy. The engine’s high sulfur tolerance allows OEMs to install the F3.8 in equipment intended for global use.

The Cummins L9 is a medium-duty engine designed with heavy-duty components and performance capabilities, offering an 8 percent increase in power and a 13 percent boost in torque compared to the previous model. Enhanced fuel efficiency and extended maintenance intervals contribute to lower operational costs and a reduced Total Cost of Ownership. The compact Single-Module after treatment system integrates DPF, SCR, and urea dosing into a single unit, occupying 50 percent less space and weighing 30 percent less than previous systems. L9 owners also benefit from Cummins Connected Diagnostic a remote monitoring technology that wirelessly links the engine to product experts for immediate analysis and recommendations upon the generation of a fault code on any telematics-equipped equipment. .

The 2.8-liter QSF engine provides performance comparable to larger engines up to 3.4 liters while maintaining a more compact size. It offers durability similar to Cummins' 4.5-liter engines. Equipped with High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel injection, full-authority electronic controls, a Cummins wastegated turbocharger, and Charged Air Cooling (CAC), the QSF2.8 achieves an impressive peak torque of 221 lb-ft (300 N•m). For even more compact installations, the QSF2.8 is also available without charge air cooling. This advanced technology allows the QSF2.8 to comply with Tier 4 Final near-zero emissions standards using only cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Cummins' proprietary Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). Additionally, the same QSF2.8 engine without the DOC meets Tier 3 emissions regulations for regions where those standards are in effect .
